To the Editor:
Things are going well in the Town of Waddington.
The town tax levy will be flat for the fourth consecutive year and the tax rate is down, reserve funds are stable, and the town currently has no debt.
Town-owned facilities (library and beach) are looking great and the old town hall handicapped accessibility project will be completed by the end of the year. The strategic economic development plan is being implemented - which balances development with maintaining community character.
Energy efficiency, sustainability, and renewable energy initiatives are underway, good relations with other regional community leaders is fostering cooperation, and the public is openly provided information and encouraged to participate in local government.
Things will continue to go well if we stay the course. Progress is resulting in and will continue to lead to stable town taxes in the future. Doing nothing, or going back to the “old way” would cost taxpayers dearly and jeopardize our future. We cannot afford to go backwards.
I hope to have your support this elect day so we can continue to keep Waddington moving forward, and an affordable and beautiful town in which to live.
