Vote to decide what is best in the long run for Potsdam and Canton schools

To the Editor:

Fellow citizen voters, we are close to two very important days that give us all a chance to use our right to vote. I hope we can make some honest decisions on that day.

The first day is Oct. 30 when we have a Straw Vote for the possibility of a school merger. I must admit, I'm not sure how I will vote yet but my decision will be based on what is best for the youth and our future.

It will not be based on how long a bus ride may be. After all, many of us remember riding 1-2 hours one way, every day to school then having the same ride home in the afternoon.

I suggest we look at all the factors and decide what's best in the long run.

The second important day is Nov. 4. I hope most of the people in the North Country have finally learned it is our right and obligation to vote for the best person for the job.

We can't continue voting by party or how one candidate may take votes from another. Many important positions are on the line.

Who do you plan to hire? The best person? Please do! Remember we have no hope of improving anything unless we do something different. Nothing will change unless we change.
