To the Editor:

I am not somebody who typically writes letters to the editor, and I seldom ask others to support a particular political candidate.

However, there is someone who deserves your vote and I am proud to ask you to support his candidacy. I enthusiastically endorse Bill Sheridan for Assemblyman in the NY State’s 116th District and hope you will too. I know Bill as a friend and have limitless respect for him as a family man.

I have known Bill for 30 years and his beautiful wife Amanda for 37 years. They are both natives of the North Country and have strong commitments to “North Country Matters.” They settled in Hammond and raised a beautiful family. Their children, Krista, Sarah and James are truly extraordinary in so many ways. I have always been impressed on how versatile, intelligent, kind and close the Sheridan family has been and continues to be.

This is truly a marked tribute to the exemplary family values that Bill and Mandy possess which naturally effervesces over into their communities.

Dwight D. Eisenhower once said, “The qualities of a great man are vision, integrity, courage, understanding the power of articulation and profundity of character.”

I believe this defines Bill Sheridan completely. He has consistently worked hard and has always been someone whose actions reflect his words. I am certain his honesty, intelligence, solid work ethic, strength of character and notable responsiveness can easily be outlined by a look at his life experiences.

Over the years, I have witnessed his devotion to the people in the communities. I am very impressed with his ability to listen, his aptitude in showing respect for others and his capability to learn from all he speaks with. He unquestionably has an accomplished sense of who he is, what he stands for and what is right.

Bill is a good person. He is a devoted husband and father with a strong sense of community responsibility. He has an easy-going personality, ready smile and a quick wit.

He is diligent, always prepared and levelheaded. I know his family values, commitments and integrity are strong and are instilled in each of his children. Each member of his family reflects generosity, love, goodness and a pledge to being all they can be. Like myself, there are many others who are proud to have such an accomplished friend who contributes so much to his family, friends and community.

I hope I have given you a little insight into this extraordinary family and what a great family man Bill Sheridan is.

Be assured that he is committed in running as your voice in the State Assembly. I encourage each and every one of you to vote in the upcoming primary on Sept. 13, be educated on the integrity and character of the candidates and who you are choosing to represent you.
