To the Editor:

Please seriously consider Bob Washo for Canton Village Trustee.

I say this because he is indeed a role model for us all: Bob is an engaged citizen who frequents local meetings and actively participates to better understand the issues and realities of the Canton Community. And then he acts on that information.

I speak from my own experience; I know Bob because we have worked together on the Canton Sustainability Committee, which has tackled projects like Solarize Canton and Local Food Local Places (a grant project funded by the EPA).

He is the leader of the group, facilitating clear discussion and focus so as to ensure serious impact in the community. He actively promotes and encourages participation regardless of whether the opinions being offered differ from his own.

Bob not only works on the committee, he helps manage a local CSA, educates students, and coaches athletes: he cares, he is passionate, and he is authentic.

Bob Washo would be a serious addition to the board of trustees and I encourage all community members to approach him, ask questions, and seriously consider casting your vote in his favor on Nov. 3.
