To the Editor:
The Colton-Pierrepont Fall Festival was a huge success, in no small part due to support from the following sponsors: Walmart, Price Chopper, St. Lawrence Supply, Dunkin Donuts, Roxy Theater, Main Street Barber, Market Lanes, and S&L Electric. The donations of food and prizes from these businesses left many a customer highly satisfied.
Additional thanks go to Wally Siebel, Nora Buckley, and Debbie Dewey, who volunteered their taste buds and culinary expertise to select the “winner” out of a multitude of delicious and attractive pies. Our gratitude to the parents who donated hours of their time on Friday evening or Saturday morning/afternoon (or both!) is boundless.
Thank you Anne Sibley, Shawn & Malinda Reed, Anna Ives, Julie Johnson, Jeff & Angel Angleberger, Kristin Vaccaro, Charles Wright, Jamie Thomas, and Dan & Bridget Manor for your help decorating, selling, organizing, and overall assisting with this event; thanks also to the parents who donated items for the bake sale and silent auction.
Kerry Cochran gets special mention (and thanks!) for fetching the dunking booth, bouncy house, and cotton candy machine. We also wish to thank Jenny and Tim Hatch for braving the cold and wet to provide horse-drawn hayrides to eager children.
Principal Jim Nee lost count of the number of dunks he endured on that cool October day; but, he never stopped smiling or “coaching” the kids on how to hit the target, which kept them coming back for more. And for that, we thank him. Ben Johnson, thanks go to you for not only uncomplainingly cleaning up after us, but for your assistance in costume judging during our dance Saturday night.
Lastly, we are grateful to the following upper and lower classman, whose help reminds us what school spirit and community are all about: Mara Vaccaro, Roger Favor, Logan Reed, Eve Whalen, Courtney Miller, Logan & Nathan Burns, Ashley Marsh, Madison Gregg, and Brandi Boyce.
