To the Editor:
I would like to send out a greatly appreciated thank you to the American Federation of Government Employees Local 1968 Union (Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation). I was injured on the job and have had to have several reconstructive surgical procedures performed on my spine. Local 1968 came forward and presented my family with a generous gift that my family is sincerely thankful for. The non-reimbursable expenditures along with the emotional roller coaster that has affected my family and me cannot be expressed in words.
So, in a time when people are putting unions down, I would like to send out a sincere thank you to AFGE Local 1968. I would like to also state that Unions need to stand strong and be proud of their accomplishments and to continue representing employees and employees need to be more involved with their unions.
Also, please be careful at your place of employment and look out for your fellow employees and always think safety first. Your family needs you to come home tonight safe and sound.
