To the Editor:
We are writing this letter in support of Derek VanHouse in his efforts to represent the Republican Party in the race for St. Lawrence County treasurer.
We have known Derek his whole life. His mother, Linda, babysat our two pre-school children. Needless to say we know the family very well.
Derek is the only Certified Public Accountant (CPA) running for county treasurer. In this time of financial crisis, we need a person with expertise in this area. Derek has been a CPA for about 20 years.
Preparing tax returns is only a small part of his work. As a CPA he does many audits for various entities. This includes reviewing and making recommendations for public, private, municipal, and government offices.
We believe Derek has the financial and management skills to be our next county treasurer. Above all, he is an honest, dependable man. Vote!
