To the Editor:
This election cycle, we are being asked to consider new directions for federal, state, and local public servant positions.
Unfortunately, we don’t have the luxury of doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different result any longer. The stakes are just too high for us all.
When assessing candidates, I urge you to consider Derek VanHouse, CPA, for St. Lawrence County treasurer.
I have known Derek personally and professionally for many years and have the confidence that he has the character, competency, commitment, and local concern we all need in a public official.
Ideally, governing should be about striking a balance between career public servants and capable private sector professionals, willing to set aside private sector success for the public good.
On Nov. 8, please vote for Derek VanHouse, CPA.
