To the Editor:
I want to start off this letter by telling Timothy Skelly III and Boy Scouts Troop 9 and all the other volunteers what a great job they did Saturday, June 3 working to clean out the trails and marking all the trails at the St. Lawrence Park cross-country ski trail.
They spent the entire day working hard to make it a useable trail.
Unfortunately, not everyone shares my appreciation and pride. Someone after hours entered the trail to remove and destroy the markers that were used to map out the trails.
They also took a hatchet to many of the trees and made damaging marks to the bark. I can’t understand why someone would put in so much effort to destroy all that the Boy Scouts did.
These kids work so hard to give back to the community and follow the right path.
With all the disturbing events that our youth have been involved in here in the North Country I cant for the life of me understand why someone would want to discourage their kind acts.
