Town councilman seeks reelection in Louisville

To the Editor:

I, Daniel O'Keefe, am seeking reelection to the Louisville Town Board. I have served since 2010 and have greatly enjoyed serving this community.

As a Louisville councilman, I have strived to be fair when making decisions for the residents. I have always tried to do the right thing and do what the residents want.

One of my goals, along with all Board members, is to preserve our low town tax rate as best we can. I have scrutinized every dollar that is spent in this town.

I also have spent many countless hours working to obtain grants for Louisville. Those grants, which total almost $250,000 have gone towards many projects that benefited the town.

The Louisville municipal building heating system was converted to wood pellet boilers, saving money on fuel and keeping fuel costs local. New equipment was purchased for the Ray Hurlbut Community Center playground. Handicapped accessible kayak docks are being purchased for two locations for our outdoor enthusiasts. The Zamboni was refurbished through local grants and donations.

Also, there have been other smaller grants that have contributed to the operation of our town. In the future, I will continue to find other revenue sources for Louisville.

The great men and women that the Town of Louisville employs makes serving the residents of this town so enjoyable.

I could not ask for a better group of people to work with. Side by side, we all have the town's best interest at heart and we accomplish extraordinary results for the community. Every last employee gives their best and I say thank you to each of you.

This sense of pride is fundamental to the identity of Louisville, and we are very proud.

In the Democratic primary in September, and the main election in November, please cast your vote for Daniel O'Keefe.

I value the trust this community has placed in me for the last 8 years and will be honored to continue to proudly serve our wonderful community.
