To the Editor:
The Potsdam Chamber of Commerce and the Summer Festival Committee would like to extend our thanks to everyone who participated and attended the 44th annual Potsdam Summer Festival.
Summer Festival would not happen without the support of Potsdam businesses, community organizations, the great musicians and performers, crafters and vendors, the village and town of Potsdam, and the public.
We also acknowledge, “This event is made possible, in part, with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts Decentralization Program, administered in Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence counties by the St. Lawrence County Arts Council.”
We wish to thank all the businesses and organizations that donated services
that helped to make the festival happen.
We also wish to thank our corporate sponsors who help with additional financial support.
We thank those other community organizations in Potsdam that take on the task of sponsoring and/or organizing activities during the festival that always take the festival to the highest level.
Despite being a week later than last year, the weather was finally cooperative for all three days of the event.
It was encouraging to see such large crowds out on Thursday to listen to the musical performances on main stage and shop with vendors and local businesses.
It was wonderful to see a full Ives Park on Saturday with vendors, shoppers, and car enthusiasts.
Congratulations to the entire Potsdam community for once again coming together and supporting this forty-four year tradition known as Summer Festival.
If you wish to see photos from this year’s festival, some are on the Potsdam Chamber of Commerce Facebook page.
We learn something new every year and encourage anyone with ideas to get involved in the yearlong planning process.
The 45th Potsdam Summer Festival is July 12-14, 2012 so mark your calendars now.
