‘Team Depot’ helps to relocate Norfolk-Raymondville Food Pantry

To the Editor:

The Norfolk Raymondville Food Pantry would like to thank Team Depot from the Massena Home Depot Store for all their assistance in helping us relocate The Norfolk Raymondville Food Pantry from its’ former site in Raymondville to its’ new location at 9 W. Main Street in Norfolk, New York.

On Tuesday, June 6,Team Depot (Rob Brothers, Ray Bourdon and Michael McPherson, led by Captain Matt Dowdle) did a wonderful job of meeting us at the site of the new food pantry and delivering and assembling the shelving that was so generously donated by Home Depot, as well as installing the three new door knobs for the food pantry doors. We were very impressed by their volunteering of their own time to assist us.

Then on Tuesday, June 27, Team Depot (Rob Brothers, KC Young, and Mia Silkwood, once again led by Captain Matt Dowdle) returned to help us move old shelving and 4 refrigerators/ Freezers from our old food pantry to our new site in Norfolk. This was no easy task and they were not only professional, but cheerful during all aspects of this move.

I would be remiss if I did not mention that this move was made possible by Home Depot employee, Corey, lending his flatbed truck to move these large freezers.

As if that were not enough, Team Depot presented us with a tote full of non-perishable food items for the food pantry!

When we found out in January that we were going to have to relocate our food pantry, we were unsure of even where to begin. Home Depot not only solved this problem for us, but generously provided us with new equipment for our new food pantry that will enhance our delivery and distribution of food to those in need.

Finally, I feel that I must comment on the atmosphere of the Massena Home Depot Store. I made several trips to your store while working on completing the Team Depot Grant and each time I was met with the most cheerful, helpful and courteous employees! The people at the service desk, as well as the associates working on the floor, always went out of their way to be helpful and accommodating! What a wonderful group of employees!

In closing, I would just like to reiterate that it was an absolute pleasure in working with Home Depot/ Team Depot! We cannot thank them enough for all they did to assist moving the Norfolk Raymondville Food Pantry to its’ new location in Norfolk!
