To the Editor:
I wish to correct the error of the disgruntled unsigned resident in Sound Off (“Tax timing,” March 12-18) who blamed the Potsdam Library staff for not ordering tax forms early enough.
The forms were ordered in November and all came except the 1040, the 1040A and the 1040 booklet.
The IRS is still having a problem with this situation and they have still not been sent to us.
Residents would do well to go online and get the forms and/or read the booklet online since the situation does not look promising.
If you would like to print these forms, the library offers free access to its computers and the staff would be willing to help you if needed.
I am sure the IRS regrets inconveniencing so many people including our staff.
