To the Editor:

We have an important decision to make this coming Nov. 4. We have the opportunity to select the most direct representative to the federal government for our north country community.

I've been following politics closely since the 1940's and voted in every election since except when I was overseas in the Marine Corp. I have seen a lot of people come and go in government circles. At this stage of my life I am surprised to see a candidate as talented and qualified as Elise Stefanik.

Our society has changed significantly over the last seventy years or so. We seem to have lost the meaning of the complete truth.

Nowadays if someone tells you only ten percent of the truth with the intention of misleading you to a known falsehood, they do not consider it lying because they did not lie in the ten percent they told you. I firmly believe that such an act is the same as lying, when you try to deliberately mislead someone into believing something you know to be patently false.

Having met and spoken with Elise on several occasions, what has impressed me the most is her understanding of truth, her basic honesty.

Elise is obviously also an intelligent, articulate, energetic young woman. She would make an excellent representative for us here in the north county.

Be sure to get to the polls on November 4 and help out our community by voting for Elise Stefanik.
