To the Editor:
In 2014 I was proud to support Elise Stefanik in her campaign for Congress. Two years later, I’m just as proud to support her again.
Elise has worked tirelessly to fight for agriculture issues in our district, and she understands what needs to be done to help farmers. Trade Promotion Authority, which Elise supported is extremely important to our area. Elise understands the need to increase our agriculture exports, and support our agriculture workforce.
Elise understands the importance of ensuring that all trade deals negotiated by the President are made public, transparent, and readily available to the public before Congress can vote on it.
This will ensure that all Americans have a chance to review trade deals, making the process more transparent.
While Elise has been hard at work helping the North Country Agriculture community, her opponent has continued the anti-commerce and anti-trade rhetoric that is misinformed and dangerous to our area - especially given our close trading partnership with Canada. He doesn’t understand the importance of TPA to our hard working farmers.
We rely heavily on trade and international commerce in all fields.
