To the Editor:

Steel Rider MC Colton Chapter is a local motorcycle club formed in Colton. The club holds events throughout the year to benefit families in need within the community. The members of the club consist of local community members. We are your neighbors, local business owners, friends and individuals whose love of motorcycles has brought us together to form a brotherhood. A brotherhood is a bond formed among bikers of trust, loyalty and mutual respect. This brotherhood contributes to charities more than most organizations do.

The Steel Riders MC - Colton Chapter has held events since December to help families in need within our community. The breakfast with Santa proceeds were used to help a single mother out at Christmas as well as a family of five who lost their home to a fire. The Colton Chapter gave the parents cash and bought Christmas presents for the three young children who lost everything in the fire.

A bar Olympics held at the AmVets Post 282 on U.S. Highway 11 Potsdam helped raise money to fund the Throttle Up for Summer Run. This event will be held May 30 at The Club, 25 Court St. This benefit will be going to help Kaiden Leclair a 10-year old from Massena .

Kaiden Leclair is suffering from symptoms related to Cystic Fibrosis. Leclair was recently released from Upstate Hospital in Syracuse. Doctors are working on how to treat Kaiden and trips to Syracuse are necessary to accomplish this.

Registration starts at 9 a.m. and throttle up at 11 a.m. Whether you come by car or bike the price for driver is $20 and rider is $15 and this price includes a buffet dinner following the poker run.

There will be 50/50 raffles, best poker hand, raffles, and tickets for the RC-MC quilt made with shirts donated by various clubs as far as Albany to Northern NY. The quilt will be displayed for all to see at the run and tickets will be available. The quilt is set to be raffled off at the Throttle Up for Vets Run on Aug. 30 at The Amvets Post 282 on U.S. Highway 11. This run is a donation run and proceeds will benefit the Wounded Warrior Outdoor adventures program of St. Lawrence County.

Steel Riders MC Colton Chapter hope to see you there. All clubs and all individuals are welcome, we do not discriminate against any organizations or make of bikes.
