St. Lawrence Valley Horsemen Association looks for new ideas for future horse shows

To the Editor:

The St. Lawrence Valley Horsemen's has finished their 2015 show season. We had nice weather for our four regular open shows and our AQUHA show. We had many fine horses and rider combinations and spectators to cheer them on. We wish to thank Mort Backus and Sons for sponsoring our Aug. 23 show and the Johnson newspapers for publicity.

Volunteers make our SLVHA shows possible, as without them we could not continue to have shows. We want to thank Dale and Carol Edson, Dee and Laura Cook, Brenda Wilson, Aurora Murray, Larry Denoyer and the walk trot families, and Dillion Skeleton for all their work and always being ready to help. We have Anita Morrell and family, Mary Fonda and family, Don Harwell, Ed Skelly and Larry Simzer who kept things going. Marsha Oney for juggling both all the computer work as well as running the games. Ann and Gary Bush to help with the games and for doing the 50/50 tickets. We thank Diana McCormick.

For the quarter horse show we thank Brenda Wilson and Sally Atchie for being the ring masters, Corey Degon for working so hard and the crew who worked the food booth. Thanks to everyone who helped that I missed.

Our shows are great but all things need to change and grow. We are need new ideas from people who enjoy our shows and to bring in new horses and riders. We have winter meeting on Sunday afternoon in central location. We have a website: SLVHA. Hope to see you at our 2016 shows. Thank you.
