To the Editor:
I’d like to sincerely thank my family, lifelong friends and new friends for their amazing support of me and my campaign for county treasurer. I feel extremely blessed to have you all in my life.
I want to thank the voters who took the time to get out and vote on primary day. While I was disappointed at the very low voter turnout and the outcome of the Republican Primary, my name will still appear on the November 8 ballot on the Independence Party line.
I ask that you do your due diligence in choosing your next county treasurer. It is one of the most important positions in the county and requires someone who has the experience, education, commitment and frankly work ethic to do the job that is required.
If anyone tells you they are running that office by themselves, they are sadly mistaken. To suggest that one would run an office by oneself is extremely disrespectful to the people that show up every day to serve the residents of this county.
I am proud of the message of my campaign. It is a true reflection of how I do everything in my life. I commit to the time and effort required. I personally went door to door almost every day for 7 months and attended hundreds of events and meetings. If someone else is doing your legwork for you in your campaign, will someone else be doing your job for you if you are elected to office?
A final note: please take the time to vote on November 8th. Remember you are not filling a political position, you are hiring the person who will protect your hard earned tax dollars, work side by side with department heads and legislators, and be beholding only to the taxpayers.
I am proud of the years of service I was fortunate enough to be able to work for, you, the taxpayers of St. Lawrence County. Again, I thank you for your support.
Bob Santamoor
Candidate for St Lawrence County Treasurer
