St. Lawrence County clerk endorses Mary Farley for Supreme Court Judge

To the Editor:

The election on Nov. 3 will determine whether or not a Supreme Court Chambers will be maintained in St. Lawrence County.

The 4th judicial district consists of 11 counties and the person elected to fill this position keeps chambers in their home county.

If St. Lawrence County loses Supreme Court Chambers, it would mean civil cases such as divorces, personal injury, medical malpractice, real property disputes, foreclosures, breach of contract, guardianships, name changes, etc. would be assigned to Supreme Court Justices as far away as Warren & Schenectady counties.

It could mean over 3 hours in travel time for court cases, increased attorney fees & delays in routine court matters. The residents of St. Lawrence County deserve local justice and access to a local Supreme Court Judge.

Mary Farley is the only person from St. Lawrence County who is running for 4th Judicial District Supreme Court Justice. She is a very highly qualified candidate who has served over 21 years as Principal Law Clerk to recently retired Judge Demarest.

She graduated from Syracuse University and Albany Law School and has practiced law at Roemer & Featherstonhaugh, P.C. in Albany. Mary was born & raised in Gouverneur and currently resides there with her family. A tireless worker, Mary is knowledgeable, experienced and will be a fair and competent judge.

I endorse Mary Farley's candidacy for 4th Judicial Supreme Court Justice and I urge you to please join me in voting for her on Nov. 3!

Mary Lou Rupp

St. Lawrence County Clerk
