To the Editor:
On behalf of our local Boy Scout units, I would like to offer our thanks and accolades to the St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce and the Waddington community for a job exceptionally well done with respect to the Bassmaster’s Elite Series that Waddington hosted recently.
The Boy Scouts are extremely grateful to have been asked to participate in such an important event and we collectively tip our hats to the organizers and fellow volunteers for executing what was an exceptional international showcase for St. Lawrence County.
We were able to recruit approximately 15 boys into our local scouting program during our time at the outdoor festival. Our scouts were able to perform service work for the chamber and several local businesses during the set-up, take-down and active portions of the event.
They were also able to sell some popcorn to help fund the local scouting program. It was a great weekend for scouting here in St. Lawrence County and, again, we are grateful to have been included. Thank you.
Jason A. Clark,
District Chairman, Boy Scouts of America
