To the Editor:

Many comments have been made about Mr. Regan’s actions regarding the firing of Mary Lou Rupp. What is done is done. Let’s get on with the campaign.

I have known Mary Lou for many years. She is a hardworking, dedicated individual who will serve this county well as County Clerk. She has the experience and knowledge to ensure that the County Clerk’s office continues to operate efficiently; putting consumer satisfaction first and bringing much needed revenue into St. Lawrence County. Mary Lou knows the inner workings of the County Clerk’s Office having had the experience of being a motor vehicle clerk, the Deputy County Clerk and the Acting County Clerk. Mary Lou has my support and the support of everyone I have spoken with. The voters of St. Lawrence County will right a wrong on Nov. 8, 2011 and will elect Mary Lou Rupp as the next St. Lawrence County Clerk.

One positive note about being “fired,” Mary Lou won’t have to seek Mr. Regan’s approval for “time off” to run her campaign.
