To the Editor:
We have witnessed the tarring of the cracks by the NYS DOT on our State Highways for the past three months. This process is to help protect the integrity of our State highways from water deteriorating the asphalt from rain and ice.
Now this same NYS DOT is carving rumble strips every 1 foot in the middle of our State Highways.
I’m not a State Highway Engineer but won’t these rumble strips accept water and ice and deteriorate the center of these same roads that we just paid someone to tar the cracks?
