In response to “Retail Stores Should Close For The Holiday,” what about the cops, EMT’s, doctors and nurses that don’t get the day off?
I know their families would like them home with them. God forbid it be someone in your family that dies because they weren’t working.
Secondly, some people actually like to shop on Christmas. If they didn’t the stores would not be open. It wouldn’t be worth it for them. A big box store is not going to stay open for like 10 people, they would not profit from that. Be real.
Some workers volunteer to work holidays too. When people take a job in stores, they know there is a chance they will have to work holidays.
So if everybody being together for Christmas is a big deal for you, then celebrate it Christmas Eve or the next day (we did ours Thanksgiving).
I mean, little kids don’t know the difference and older kids will get over it the second they open their first present. I mean after all Christmas is about Christ isn’t it?
