To the Editor:
At the June 6 meeting of the Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence Counties Central Trades and Labor Council, a resolution was unanimously approved by the delegates that represent over 24,000 members in three counties.
That resolution supports the increases to the assistant district attorney’s salaries of St. Lawrence County. We thank the St. Lawrence County Legislature for recognizing the shortfall and making the necessary adjustments.
It is further resolved that we support having adequate office resources for the St. Lawrence County District Attorney’s offices to not only protect the witnesses in all cases but to more efficiently run the office of District Attorney Mary Rain.
The election is over and The Labor Council fully supports our People’s Attorney. It is our duty to do everything we can to support our law enforcement officials in their capacity regardless of party affiliation. They are sworn to protect the citizens of our counties and we fully support them in that endeavor.
