To the Editor:

This year's presidential campaign has consumed countless hours of airtime, rallies, reporting, discussion, etc., yet the single biggest, most important issue facing us - the one issue which will be the major underlying driver behind all other issues that people hold dear - has barely been mentioned.

Only one candidate, Bernie Sanders, has correctly identified, accelerated climate change as the biggest issue facing our country and the world.

Climate change in the coming years will profoundly affect, national security, global political stability, immigration, economy, quality of life, public health, food security, and just about every other issue voters have identified as important to them.

All the Republican candidates have shown themselves to be climate cowards, denying it, and refusing to address it.

Secretary Clinton acknowledges it, but her interest in addressing the issue seems tepid. Four years of climate cowardice, at this point,is not an option for any one who cares about anything on this planet. Without a full on effort involving national leadership and legislation, there is no chance of averting catastrophe. All the efforts of well meaning individuals will amount to nothing without collective agreements, laws and actions. Bernie Sanders is our only hope of achieving that.

Please support Bernie Sanders in the New York State Democratic Party Primary. If you're concerned about performance in the general election, the evidence I've seen indicates that Bernie Sanders is the better bet to beat a Republican opponent.
