To the Editor:

After the holiday season the Rensselaer Falls Playground Committee will be back in full swing planning more events and activities to help raise more money to add to our playground.

This will begin January 1, 2017 with a bottle drive. Perry’s Place will have a truck in front of the Village Office, Main Street, Rensselaer Falls from noon to 4 p.m. Please bring cans and bottles from your New Year’s celebration and help out a great cause.

Also, with everything there is to be thankful for this time of year, we would like to take the time to thank those who made out 1st pancake breakfast such a huge success! It was great to see so many people come out from all townships to support the Rensselaer Falls Playground.

A special thank you to our kitchen crew, Ernie Swartzfigure, Mark Bomyea, Lou and Bailey Benware, Brandon Kelley, Josh Gilson, and Johanna Newcombe, you all worked like a well oiled machine! Thank you to Michael Hammond, Stacy Gushea, Heidi Smith, Hilary Kelley, Heather M. Newcombe, Jolene LeSiege, Kira Hammond, Karen Hebert, Kendra Hammond, Eric Mitchell, Emma Benware, Katie Borey, and Mary Dolan.

Thank you to all that donated and made this all possible: Brett Bailey and family, Chapin’s Country Market, Community Bank (Heuvelton), Warren Bessette, Mary and Brian Dolan, Jeff and Donna Hammond, Debora Hannan, Kinney’s (Canton), Kyle and Sally Hartman, Dan Huntley, Newcombe’s Maple Ridge, Price Chopper (Canton 046 and Ogdensburg 030), Jimmy and Shelly Sanderson, Save-A-Lot (Canton), Stewart’s Shop (Canton 119), and Joshua Parker (Parker’s Real Maple).

A special thank you to the Rensselaer Falls Volunteer Fire Department for allowing us to use your space, this never would have happened without you.

Thank you again to everyone involved and everyone that came out to support our small town! Keep your eyes open for our next Pancake Breakfast in the spring and more future events! Happy Holidays and have a safe and Happy New Year!
