To the Editor:

My husband, Brian Moulton, runs and operates the Madrid Ice Rink for the town and has for many years. Jason Fetterly came up to him and asked if he could give back to his community and put metal on the roof and paint the ice rink for free. Brian got everything coordinated and we helped where we could.

On behalf of many, if not all, Madrid residents, I would like to thank Jason and Amber Fetterly, owners of JP’s Demo and General Contracting, their crew and family members for donating materials, time and labor to the Madrid Ice Rink. They took a community building that has been long over due for a facelift and gave it an amazing one.

The roof had torn and wrinkled shingles, old flaking paint and was in need of an upgrade to keep it from deteriorating and causing a costly repair.

It is greatly appreciated and now this building looks outstanding and will be around for many more years for families to enjoy.

This generous donation to his community was given with no strings attached, only the hope that it will still be here when his son is old enough to enjoy the ice rink.
