To the Editor:
Organizers of the 25th Norwood Lake Regatta wish to thank sponsors, volunteer’s, spectators, media and all who contributed to make the event successful.
The $12,000 income from the two-day affair, although less then previous year, will provide adequate profit for the Norwood Lake Association to continue its effort to control Eurasian milfoil in Norwood Lake. The popular Norwood lake Association Recycling Center will also benefit.
There were fewer snowmobile race drivers this year, 11 Saturday and 13 Sunday, mainly due to a schedule conflict. The Eastern Watercross Association, responsible for the races, told local officials they are already at work to correct the problem.
We did receive positive responses that the races were exciting and the three-hour event was enjoyed by those attending.
Again, thanks for your support, we are pleased to bring an event to our area that is fun to stage and benefits local businesses.
Jim McFaddin
Norwood Lake Association, President
