To the Editor:
As we prepare to cast our ballots for St. Lawrence County Clerk in November I urge all voters to take the time to listen to what the candidates themselves have to say.
I’ve had the pleasure of hearing both candidates for County Clerk plead their case before the Central Trades and Labor Council, and although Mrs. Rupp seems like very nice woman, Gavin Regan stood out as the clear leader.
The Labor Council must have agreed with me because he received a unanimous endorsement.
It’s no wonder Mr. Regan stood out as the top choice; just look at his background. He has more than 20 years in the financial industry.
Those weren’t years sitting behind a desk crunching numbers either. Those were years working with clients in one-on-one situations and building a client list through trust, hard work, and integrity.
In these trying financial times those are the three qualities I want most from my County Clerk. After all, of all the county positions, County Clerk is the position most likely to increase revenue.
So far Gavin has increased revenue by at least 10% in each of his seven months in office.
The County Clerk also has the most exposure to the general public. Wouldn’t you like to know that the person running the office has always had customer satisfaction as his number one goal?
As Mr. Regan travels the state looking for ways to increase revenue and making sure Albany doesn’t find ways to take it away, I trust that St. Lawrence County has a representative that uses straight talk and sincerity to earn trust.
When he’s in town, I trust that he’s looking out for our residents as he thinks of innovative strategies such as mobile passport clinics and discount cards for veterans.
If you haven’t had a chance to hear Gavin speak, take the time. How about a debate? I’m sure Mr. Regan would jump at the chance.
Listen to Gavin himself. You’ll find what I did, straight talk from an honest, hardworking public servant. I trust Gavin Regan and he has my vote on Nov. 8; I hope he has yours too.
