To the Editor:
The Canton Town Board has two seats open and there are three candidates. It’s always nice to see that people have an interest in serving their community. It’s also nice to have new people serve and bring with them a different perspective.
However, a current member of the town board has earned the right to serve again. That person is Jim Smith. Jim has served the Canton community well over the years. He comes to the table without an agenda and is always willing to listen and learn before he legislates.
We in Canton have been fortunate that people like Jim Smith are willing to spend the amount of time that it takes to be an effective board member. Jim has demonstrated time and again that he is a thoughtful, dedicated leader.
This is an exciting time for the Town of Canton. We need good leaders. Leaders like Jim Smith.
I urge you to please get out and vote on November 3, and I also ask you to vote for Jim Smith for Canton Town Board.
