To The Editor:

Summer is coming to a close and fall is fast approaching. Once again, it is time to show our appreciation to the awesome people that we are blessed to work with every day.

The week of September 7-13 has been designated as Direct Support Professionals week. We recognize the dedication and accomplishments of our outstanding Direct Support Professionals and express our sincerest appreciation for their vital contribution to our communities.

These Direct Support Professionals provide skillful and compassionate services and supports for people in need, including seniors, people with developmental disabilities, people with mental illness, and those with chronic medical conditions. Their efforts allow those in need to live with dignity and comfort in our community.

Danny Thomas said “Success has nothing to do with what you gain in life or accomplish for yourself. It’s what you do for others.” By providing the much needed supports and services to those in need, these Direct Support Professionals are the living definition of success.

We thank each and every one of our Direct Support Professionals for their dedication, compassion and professionalism that they show every day.
