o the Editor:
Sen. Ritchie states in her letter to the editor (posted online only at NorthCountryNow.com), “when you take a pet into your home, it becomes a part of your family … I’m helping to take steps to safeguard man’s best friend.”
Last week, the state Senate passed a bill that increases stealing a pet from a misdemeanor to a felony punishable by up to four years in prison.
This sickens me so when we care more for our animal pets than our own human babies growing innocently in the sanctity of their own mother’s womb.
When a woman becomes pregnant she is a mother and the baby is a member of the family. Mrs. Ritchie, what steps are you taking to protect our most innocent members of the family – the unborn?
