To the Editor:

On behalf of the Session, members and friends of First Presbyterian Church of Potsdam, I want to thank the business community for sponsoring our recent fifth annual charity golf tournament, The Presbyterian.

The following were sponsors of the tournament to whom we are most grateful: all of the business sponsors, Art & Mary Ellen Frackenpohl, Eleanor Hopke, John P. Hart, Bob & Sharon Pickard, Ken Visser, Lynn & Shirley Warden, and Rich & Laurena Will.

As well, many businesses and individuals donated prizes, gifts and items and to these we are also most appreciative: Lou Ballard, Marie Callahan, Vernice Church, Jean Dawson, Elisabeth Eno, Rob Ewy, Art & Mary Ellen Frackenpohl, Bob & Betty Fraser, Beth Grace, Martin Heintzelman & Victor Caamaño, Marilyn Johnson, Ruth Kreuzer, Tom Longshore, Donna Nichols, Tim Irish, Sue Osterberg, Sharon Pickard, Gail Schaberg, Fran Stowe, and Robin & Brian Wilkinson.

A very special thanks to the Potsdam Town & Country Club for hosting our tournament and golf pro Evre Veress and staff, Michael Todd and his staff for accommodating us.

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the entire golf committee, especially Chip Hunter, whose tireless efforts continue to amaze us, the players, the volunteers who helped at the tournament as well as the wonderful members and friends of Potsdam Presbyterian who prepared, cooked, baked for and served at the awards dinner, especially Seth Chichester, Lou Ballard, Jean Dawson, Terry de la Vega, Eric Hewitson, Ranota Hewitson, Dale Hobson, Rosalie Hunter, Neil & Marilyn Johnson, Tom Longshore, Wanda Paro, Avery Raymonda, Kirk & Josie Severtson, Laura & Ray Toland, Dave & Jane Wells, and Robin Wilkinson.

We sincerely are indebted to all who helped make this tournament a success and look forward to next year’s event.

Many organizations throughout the area and beyond will be assisted through the mission work of First Presbyterian Church because of this fine effort, which netted about $3,500 this year.
