To the Editor:
There are many reasons why I decided to run for the Town Board in Potsdam.
I am experienced in local government as a former member of the Potsdam Town Planning Board (3 years) and as a member of the PCSD Board of Education (13 years). Both positions required commitment, insight, and wise decision-making. I am currently serving on board of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) as finance chair.
All in all, I have spent many years working on finance, policy, and legal issues related to public organizations.
I am most proud of learning much about the Open Meetings Laws and the Freedom of Information Laws and being a staunch supporter of the right of the public to know what is going on in their governmental bodies.
My husband, John, and my three sons were all born in the North Country and, as a family, we want to see the region thrive economically.
I would very much appreciate your vote in the Democratic Primary on September 10.
