Potsdam native wins $50K for cancer charity

To the Editor:

Over the past few weeks, I was waiting patiently to hear the results of the contest. Finally...they have arrived.

I have lost words once again in absolutely the best way possible. We did it, you did it.

We won $50k towards the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

Realize that everything you did - voting, broadcasting this via North Country This week and North Country Now, and helping spread the word - will go towards saving the lives of tens of thousands of people each and every year from now on.

Realize that you have brought smiles and tears of joy to thousands of people who will now have their stories told, and the death of their loved ones will not be in vain.

Realize that everything you have done has meant more to me than I could ever express in any way possible. Once again, and I owe you all a lifetime more, thank you, thank you, thank you...I am so very grateful.

And of course, congratulations! Without your help, this would have never been possible.

Kanika Misra

formerly of Potsdam

Editor’s note: Kanika recently won $50,000 in an online contest on the website brickfish.com. The money could be put toward the charity of her choice, and she chose the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, in honor of her late uncle, who passed away from the disease.
