The Potsdam Mega Reunion, held on August 10 – 12, 2012, was a huge success by all accounts. We’ve received many positive comments about the Reunion, but one post on Facebook summed it up for us -- “Kudos to the committee for making a seemingly impossible task appear seamless to all who attended! Great Job!!”

From all of us, you’re welcome.

As the organizers of the event, those words are great to hear; but we certainly couldn’t have done it without the overwhelming support of many others. Therefore, we’d like to send special thanks to the all of the businesses, organizations and individuals that helped make this event possible:

Potsdam Chamber of Commerce for helping us so much over the past months; Town & Village of Potsdam for support throughout the planning stages and during the weekend; Johnson Newspapers & North Country This Week for their coverage of the event throughout the different stages, the Potsdam Walmart for donating the Goody Bags, Mike Rowe & Car-Freshner Corporation for donating items for the Goody Bags; Abby McNamara for helping stuff goodie bags and filling merchandise orders before the weekend; Mimi VanDeusen and everyone at the Potsdam Museum for hosting a great Welcome Reception; Sue Aldous Stapleton and Vlasta Pinkston for help with Registration at the Museum, The Clarkson Inn for greeting our attendees after the Welcome Reception; Great Northern Printing & Mike’s Trophies for being great suppliers of the ‘official merchandise’ that folks continue to order, Booster Club for selling our merchandise throughout the weekend; Cactus Grill, Elks Club, First Crush, Lobster House, Mama Lucia’s, Maxfields, Scoopuccino’s, Ton’s Sports Bar and Potsdam Country Club for hosting the Class Mixers; Boy Scout Troop # 77 for lending us their tent just in case ; Leon Martin for moving the Main Stage; Ben Todd and the countless musicians who donated their time for our listening pleasure; Larry Hazen for accommodating us with an alternative location for the bands so quickly due to weather reports, Hall of Fame for helping out with the JamFests on Friday night, Kiwanis Club for organizing the 5K Walk, Run, Skip or Crawl on Saturday morning; Elks Club for putting on a fabulous chicken barbecue; HankFest for the Saturday afternoon musical tribute and Craft Show in the park; SUNY Potsdam and PACES Food Service for a wonderful facility and dinner; IYQ Balloon Décor for decorating the dinner venue; Double Axle for providing great entertainment; Potsdam Central School for allowing our group photo to be moved to the Gymnasium and for hosting our Farewell Brunch; Fonda and Hank Maza, our photographer and videographer, who captured three days of memories, Potsdam Police Department and SUNY Potsdam University Police for keeping an eye on all of us to ensure everyone’s safety, the entire Potsdam retail business community who welcomed the hundreds of visitors throughout the weekend -- and Sergi’s Italian Restaurant for working so hard to open in their ‘new’ location during our weekend so everyone could experience their great food once again before leaving town!

We’d also like to thank all the Potsdam Central School alum, Faculty and Staff members who attended from near and far, and for having the faith in us to pull such an event off successfully.

Many have asked, ‘When will you do this again’? Our answer, ‘In 2017’! We’re already discussing the details.

Until then, cherish the three days of fun, music and memories!
