The Potsdam Elks’ Lodge sweet treats for soldiers candy bar drive was a huge success. I would like to thank the following businesses for their support and helping us almost double our goal: A.A.K. Middle School, Amvets Post 17; Ashley’s Furniture; Beta Sigma Phi; Between the Buns; Blevins Motors; Brewer Bookstore; Canton Bus Drivers; Canton School; Clarkson; Debonair; Foster’s Collision; Foxy Roxy’s; Girl Scout Troop #50103; and Grant’s Gas Station.

Also, Great Northern Printing; Hammond SPCA; Harris Medical; High Peaks Wine; Hospice; JS Cinemas Inc.; Kunoco Food Marts; Madrid Waddington School; Massena Junior High School; McDuff’s Tavern; Mountain Medical; Northern Music and Video; NYSARC; Pinto, Mucenski, Hooper, VanHouse, & Co; Ponderosa; Potsdam High School; Potsdam IGA; Potsdam Price Chopper; and Racquette Valley Fish and Game Club.

Also, Riverview Bar & Resturant; Riverview Correctional Facility –Ogdensburg; Save A Lot; Sergi’s; Sunmount; Suny; Potsdam & SUNY Canton; The Carol Lee Shoppe; The Hair Studio; The University Book Store; Village Dinner; and West Stockholm Ladies Auxiliary.

I would also like to thank our local media, including B99.3, North Country Now, the Watertown Daily Times, and WWNY-tv for their amazing coverage of the candy bar drive.

Most importantly, to all the North Country people who dropped a candy bar into the box, you made a difference in a returning soldier’s life. Without you this would not have been possible. Thank you!
