To the Editor:
On Saturday, Sept. 15 the Potsdam Food Co-op celebrated 39 years serving the North Country with its Annual Open House. The festive day was filled with music, food, and fun for members and non-members alike! A celebration to formally welcome our new General Manager, Eric Jesner, and thank our outgoing General Manager, Bob Josephson was held at the end of the day with the symbolic “Passing of the Baguette.”
We are grateful to the local musicians who provided the wonderful sounds that filled the day and to Beth Robinson who arranged the program. The musical talents of the members of Animal Crackers, Caramelo, & Minor Swing were very much enjoyed by all who attended the celebration. Children and those young-at-heart created butter from heavy cream to tunes played by Animal Crackers.
In addition to the creations produced by our own Carriage House Bakery and Natural Foods Deli, we are very appreciative to the Co-op vendors who contributed to the Open House. We are grateful to the Christian Science Church for allowing us to use their lawn for the day. Our thanks to Mary Egan of Potsdam for her talented face painting.
Thanks also to the many board members, volunteers, and staff members who assisted in various aspects of the open house. We appreciate their help and all they did to make this day a wonderful celebration.
