To the Editor:
My name is Connor Newcombe and I am running for Potsdam Town Councilman in the September 12, 2017 Democratic primary.
Service to the community is a family tradition - my father was in the U.S Army and my mother is now working in the social service area.
After over 20 years of service and five out of the country deployments, my father retired from the Army and we moved to Potsdam, because both of my parents had grown up in the North Country.
I entered the Potsdam Central School system as an eighth grader and will be a high school senior this year.
My interest in history and subsequently politics and government has motivated me to seek a leadership role on the Potsdam Town Board.
Following my family’s example, I also wish to serve my community.By participating in local government, I believe I can bring a youthful perspective and open mind to the decision making process on the town board. I hope I can count on your support in the September 12th primary.
