To the Editor:

This year our Perennial Plant Annual Fundraiser joined the “Strut Your Mutt “event on May 2 at the Sandstone Arena, Potsdam organized by Alysia Maynard.

The proceeds of the sale amounted to $1,152 which will be donated to the Potsdam Humane Society for the care and comfort of the dogs and cats under their care.

The Clarkson Garden Club and the Potsdam Garden Club would like to thank Kevin and Jennifer Blanchard of Willow Tree Florists for their donation of a 6-foot apple tree for the raffle prize. Bonnie Boyd, one of the PHS Board of Directors, was the lucky winner. In addition, we would like to thank Daryl Kolanko of Potsdam Agway for the 3 flats of dwarf lime and deep red Coleus, light purple Sorbet Violas and lovely red Nicotiniana which gave such a boost of early color to the display in Sandstone Arena. Lots of club members and local residents took part in digging perennials, starting seeds and helping setting up the event.
