My gosh, the North Country is experiencing a sign blight worse than any previous year, I think.

The primaries are over; the signs need to go and the blight removed from streets, county and state routes. They are even littered all over less-travelled back roads and even some roads without names.

And the county/local government shouldn’t be paying to have them picked up. Those who placed signs need to be the ones to spend the time removing the political litter spread all over the place, now long after the elections.

I don’t think homeowners are responsible for getting rid of them either when they are placed on the right-of-ways every road includes. I consider the worst of these to being the silly repeal SAFE act signs when they have no relevancy any longer and never really did.

Public strips are not the homeowner’s responsibilities. Why should they pay the tipping charges and other money to get rid of them?

Our North Country doesn’t need all this litter. It just makes us look like a crappy, disheveled peoples who have no pride in how properties may look. Which is not true.

How can we respect these litterers of our streets and roads when they can’t even pick up after themselves? It speaks to some pretty loudly about how that attitude will carry over to elections come November, which will create an even larger littering insult to our normally picturesque roadways.

Come on, so called supporters: Make your political people proud of you; pick up your litter!
