To the Editor:
The recent “Pets for Vets” golf tournament netted over $10,000 for the veterans’ program at the Potsdam Humane Society.
Veterans, retired or presently serving, are given a free dog or cat with an approved adoption application. Animal companions adopted at PHS have literally been lifesavers for those to whom we owe our freedom.
The PHS Board and staff would like to thank those who made the 2016 golf event successful.
NYSCOPBA (NYS Correction Officers Union) sponsored a $1,000 Platinum level gift.
Gold ($500 sponsors) of the event were Potsdam Agway, Town and Country Animal Clinic, Amvets 265 in Parishville, T & R Wines and Liquors and TJ Toyota.
Additional cash sponsors: Janet Duprey, Friends of Patty Richie, Cutler’s Custom Home Repair, Mort Backus and Sons, Watson Electric, Cappello and Linden, Jean Curtis, Moore’s Excavating, Deb Massell and Jackson Francisco, Granary Antiques and Collectibles, Plumley Real Estate-Jane Amelotte, Amvets Post 262, Colton, Amvets Post 11, Dekalb, Merriman’s, Suzanne Smith, Community Bank, CJS Enterprizes, Cindy Dusharm, Moose Lodge, Potsdam, LBL Outfitters, Sandstone Realty, Stonebridge Kayaks (Madrid), Save-A-Lot, SUNY Canton Admissions, Dr. John Carvill, DDS, Belvins Motors.
