To the Editor:
This letter is a response to Scott Sutherland’s remarks on my switching parties to circumvent the primary and my opponent being such a good candidate.
The chairman of the Democratic Party called me and asked me to run. Why? I believe it is because he knows me and also knows I am not a political party person. I am (as I would hope all candidates are) interested in helping our county, not because there is a Democratic or Republican reason but rather the right reason. We are all family or friends and want the same results. If the Republicans had asked me to run on their line, I would have. It is time to put aside differences and work together and quit acting like children on the playground.
As for my opponent Jerry Moore, he was town supervisor for eight years until he up and quit in the middle of his term because” he doesn’t have it in him anymore” he certainly didn’t attend the majority of the Wind Turbine meetings as some would like to have you believe.
Don’t take my word for it, call the town board members and ask their opinions of his work ethics or lack of. As far as Mr. Moore saying he is head and shoulders above me. How would he or Mr. Sutherland even have a clue? They don’t know me , it is just political campaigning just as the rest of the noisemakers in the political arena, you don’t hear boo from them until it is election time and then it is just criticism about how bad things are. Stop complaining about how bad things are and bring real solutions to the table for the entire term not just at election time. Let’s stop wasting energy complaining and put it toward positive results.
As far as the news coverage, it has been in my opinion “terrible”. It is a one sided entity that is not reporting the news but editing it to the results they would like. As I said earlier though, I am not a believer that one party is better or worse than the other but it is the voters who need to decide so report the news as it is without altering it!
It is your right and privilege to vote, please Vote the person not the party
