To the Editor:

On Dec. 9 and 10, the St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce hosted a craft, food & wine holiday show, Tastes & Talents of the North Country, held for the first time at SUNY Potsdam’s Maxcy Hall Fieldhouse.

On behalf of the St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce, I’d like to send a huge thank you to all those who helped to make this 2nd annual event a success.

Specifically, Dustin Smith, Facilities Manager of Maxcy Hall, Lori Smith, PACES Catering Manager at SUNY Potsdam, St. Lawrence NYSARC who provided shuttle service from two parking lots on the campus, and event sponsors Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Community Bank and SUNY Potsdam.

I’d also like to give a special thanks to the student workers who assisted our 125 vendors with loading in and out of the facility, as well as numerous volunteers who assisted at the admission table during the two days.

As a first time location for this event, we appreciated the 2,000+ shoppers who stopped by to shop; buying quality, handcrafted items from the local and regional craft, artisan, wineries and food vendors. Feedback from shoppers and vendors alike were very positive, and we look forward to making this an annual event!

Until the next event, have a happy and safe holiday season!
