To the Editor:

My husband and I are both Republicans, but we will be voting for Tedra Cobb in the NY- 21st in November and not Elise Stefanik.

Unlike Stefanik, Tedra Cobb has lived in the North Country for the past 30 years serving her community in St. Lawrence County. As she served on the county legislature and founded a health service organization, she realized that healthcare in this county is a huge issue for its residents.

Unlike Stefanik, who has voted again and again to gut the ACA while receiving major financial support from the healthcare industry, Cobb pledges to support our health, the ACA, Medicaid and Medicare. If the bill to abolish the ACA had passed Congress as Stefanik wanted, 64,000 of our neighbors would have lost their insurance.

As our healthcare costs rise this fall, the Republicans in the House continue to try to attack our healthcare; we deserve much better in the North Country.

Our district also desperately needs a representative like Tedra Cobb who will support the rule of law and provide a check on the constant chaos and corruption emanating from this White House.

As a member of the dysfunctional House Intel Committee, Stefanik has, unfortunately, proven to all of us that she is incapable of playing a role in finding the truth about the Russian interference in our elections, the very bedrock of our democracy. And on too many occasions, she has acquiesced to the leadership of the House of Representatives as they pass laws that do not support NYS or the North Country.

We need a representative who knows and cares about the people in her district and that is Tedra Cobb. It is time to really clean house. Vote for Tedra in November.
