To the Editor:

I find it astonishing the number of people in our local area who can already say that they are not interested in voting. In fact, more people have said they have no intention of voting on November 6, the midterms, than have said yes, they intended to vote. Many others said there was no point in voting because it didn't matter.

It does matter, people, and the coming midterm elections in November are a way to take back our country from Trump, the GOP (Republicans), and even the NRA.

In addition to all this, Putin, of Russia, worked hard to influence our elections in 2016, where Donald Trump was elected by the Electoral College, but he did not get the popular vote! Clinton beat him by almost 3 million votes but the outmoded and outdated Electoral College (EC) chose Trump. In my opinion, and as pretty well proven by the Washington Post, the New York Times, and several other legitimate and well organized new sources are saying from their investigations.

Trump is in bed with Putin. The GOP are in bed with Putin. The NRA accepts a lot of money from Putin and his organizations. This is not true of any other party! We need to end this Communist influence in our government and take our country back from them, along with the GOP and NRA.

None of those organizations are willing to take any action to protect our children in school from being killed with automatic assault weapons, and they refuse to take any action to limit their legality. We need to outlaw automatic assault weapons because of their rapid-fire rates that can kill up to a hundred or so people with one clip, all within a very few seconds.

These weapons must be removed from our country or school killings and more will continue. They have no other purpose; they are not sport weapons, for target practice, or any legitimate use other than to kill. The GOP and the NRA are emboldened by the Communists to keep these weapons legal to own, carry, and reap fortunes for the companies who make and distribute these weapons.

Please be certain to vote Democratic in the primaries still to come, and in the Nov. 6 midterm elections! Take our country back from the GOP!
