Opinion: Time to clean out career politicians, says Norwood resident

To the Editor:

Do you remember when you met your significant other for the first time? How did you feel and how much did you want to know about them? Did you spend as much time as you could getting to know them, warts and all, and found that all the good things you saw far outweighed the bad habits or idiosyncrasies? Or did you only listen to the voices and sound bites of those who were maybe jealous or mad: either of you or this new found friend?

I ask these questions because I fear that many are making a decision about this election, especially for our next president, based on the media’s caricature of candidates rather than doing extensive research themselves. For ten years I listened to customers at the diner telling me how the media lies, how politicians are corrupt, and that many had stopped voting because they felt it couldn’t be changed. In other words, rigged.

Here comes a non-politician, a builder and practical dreamer, a person who knows how to get things done, believes in law and order, and believes that all Americans can rise above their current position to achieve more and better in life: and we have the audacity to think that those who put us in this country’s predicament can get us out? That is the definition of insanity. When someone isn’t doing the job they were hired to do then we must fire them.

I ask you to listen and research Donald’s rallies and positions on matters dear to you. If you agree with him, then vote for change and the cleaning out of career politicians.

The media isn’t letting you know the truth. Seek it for yourself. Together we can help bring back sanity, law and order, and dreaming big to this beautiful country of ours.

See you at the polls!
