Three cheers to Joretta Pierce Creighton, proprietor of Potsdam’s Bailey’s Florists these past many decades.

When I first contacted Joretta in 2001 for help in organizing Potsdam Central High School’s Class of 1961 40-year reunion, Joretta first reminded me that she had been classmates of my sisters Peggy & Helen way back in the fifties. Joretta then went to work helping me find classmates from the class of 1961 who would never otherwise have been found.

What a sleuth Joretta was, and what a cheerful sleuth to boot! Joretta didn’t just find one or two lost classmates, she found several, complete with (then) current addresses. And do you know what? Most of those lost friends showed up at our reunion, all due to Joretta’s efforts. Even the internet could not locate some of these classmates.

The Potsdam Central High School class of 1961 was honored to have Joretta and her husband attend our 2001 reunion dinner as our special guests. They were joined by our school principal Jack McMann, local celebrity Con Elliot, and more than a dozen other past teachers and school personnel.

Through the years I have counted on Joretta and Bailey’s Florists to deliver best wishes, condolences, and the like to my North Country friends, and I’ve done this all the way from Mexico.

As usual, Joretta delivered! She's the best.

Mi amiga Joretta, thank you, thank you, thank you for your many decades of service, from all of your North Country friends.
