To the Editor:
In 2014 Elise Stefanik became the youngest female in our country’s history to be elected to congress. She is running for reelection in November. Her campaign slogan was a fresh face and fresh ideas for NY -21 and she delivered in a big way.
Based on her impressive freshmen term I enthusiastically support her.
Elise has earned the respect of her colleagues from both sides of the aisle with her common sense and solid work ethic.
Over 25% of her legislation enjoyed bipartisan support. Thru her membership on high-level National Defense committees Elise was key in uniting all New York Congressional members (Republican and Democrat) in successfully defending Fort Drum from drastic cuts.
Indeed her first term shows significant success across the board; National defense, healthcare, education and common sense environmental issues. Elise followed thru on her promise of transparency by posting all her votes (and explanations) along with her schedule on Facebook and her website.
Elise is one of us, sharing the values that make our North Country special. She is the first college graduate (honors Harvard University) from her small business family. Nobody works harder in covering our vast district and most impressive is her ability to truly listen and interact with her constituents.
We are fortunate to have someone of Elise’s quality represent us. I hope you’ll join me in sending Elise back to Washington.
