For the past twelve years, I have had the honor of serving as your county legislator for District 14. County government is different from other local governments, as it is the pass through for the state to provide essential services to the people.

On top of this, the county is responsible for a number of other items ranging from county infrastructure to public safety to weights and measures. All of this as we also try to develop the area’s economy through the various economic development agencies.

It takes a special type of person who has the energy and drive to tackle all of these issues. I believe that Nicole Terminelli is the individual for this job. Nicole has a proven record of accomplishment with her work for the Boys and Girls Club of Massena.

She is active in various civic organizations in Massena and knows first-hand the challenges facing our community. She will be a strong voice at the county in the continuing fight against opioid addictions here in St. Lawrence County.

I think most importantly though is her determination to collaborate with our village mayor and board to continue the downtown revitalization program. Through partnership with the county, the Village of Massena has slowly but surely turned once dilapidated properties into functioning buildings. We need more of this in all of our communities and Nicole will continue this important work.

I would like to commend all of the candidates this fall for having the courage to step forward and serve.

It is not easy to put your name on a ballot and run for office. It is stressful to the individual and their families and I thank them all for their willingness to step forward.

I encourage everyone to vote on Tuesday, Nov. 6, and I ask that you support Nicole Terminelli for St. Lawrence County Legislator for District 14.
